Domain Suffix Ideas

If you’re looking to build a new website you’ll want to get something that is brandable but also give your users some idea of what the website is all about. One of the best ways to go about this is by choosing a keyword and then adding a suffix to the end of it.

There are loads of suffixes you can choose from for your domain name, however I thought it might be handy to create a suffix list so there’s an easy to reference list for people choosing domains. I don’t pretend this is an exhaustive list:

I think with ICANNs new gTLD programme, the days of the domain suffix are numbered.

a lot of those words are available as gTLDs now, so you can get even more relevance at a tld level

    eg. http://fasthosting.network

Google haven’t confirmed they are using the new tlds in their SERP algorithms, just that they may in the future, but I think it’s a safe bet they won’t go against you and gives you a better chance at getting a more memorable domain than the standard tlds where all the good names are taken these days

    Thanks Gavin,

You’re absolutely, however there’s still a question mark about how effective the new range of tlds are going to be at ranking in the medium term, and I would suggest getting the traditional .com / .co.uk in the UK and sitting on the respective gTLD variant and then migrate to the more memorable domain if we start to seeing the new ones in the SERPs more.
