Google Maps is Evolving

Recently I’ve noticed that when you search for specific businesses with Google Places accounts the Name of the business is no longer a clickable link – there is a link underneath the title that says “Places Page”.

This is in line with Google’s overall strategy to keep people on their system by providing them with all the information they need.

The search engine is working towards becomming a one stop shop, in which the internet users and service providers use Google software for everything.

If you want an example search for a specific hotel near by, travel is a key vertical for Google as it’s one of the best local searches and people have to buy at the end of it. Ultimately, Google will be trying to make you book your stay through Google places.
