Why Do I Need Good Content On My Website?

By | Content Marketing, Search Engines, Thoughts | No Comments

Now I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not (it’s not as though I bang on about it much!) but I’m an SEO Copywriter by trade. My job title might be Managing Director now, but having come from a previous life as a freelance copywriter, before I got dragged into the crazy world of GrowTraffic and SEO, copywriting is pretty much what I’m obsessed with.

Which is why all my blogs are about copywriting. You might have perceived the theme?  Read More

Putting SEO Predictions Under The Microscope – 2018 A Mid-Year Review

By | Content Marketing, Google, Search Engines, SEO | No Comments

SEO – The Story SO Far for 2018

You know it’s coming to the end of the year when Sports Personality of the Year is on the BBC and the annual reviews start appearing in the tabloids and on social media, whether they are about film releases, the year in politics, fashion hits and misses or generally the stories that made the headlines from January to December are reviewed and make the headlines once more!

When it comes to Digital Marketing developments however, it’s worth remembering that changes to SEO algorithms moves so quickly and Google updates happen in the blink of an eye, that it’s worth stopping half way through the year to reflect and ensure you’re digital marketing strategies are still on track.

Who Are The Leading SEOs In The UK In 2018?

By | Search Engines, SEO | 6 Comments

It’s been quite a while since I’ve created a top SEOs blog post, but I consistently get SEO orientated digital marketers reaching out to me to see if they could be included in one of my top SEO lists.

So, let’s get something straight right from the start. The GrowTraffic, TOP SEO list is created using the vaguest of methodologies. There is a bit of science behind it but I’m not going to try to pretend that this is a scientific analysis of who the top SEOs are in the UK. You could probably conclude that this is at best competitor analysis of those competing in the SEO space in Google’s SERPs from a GrowTraffc perspective. Read More

How Do I Optimise A Blog Post For SEO?

By | Content Marketing, Google, Search Engines, SEO | No Comments

I love copywriting.

Whilst I’m currently the Managing Director of GrowTraffic Ltd (I say ‘currently’ because who knows how long this will last?!? I might win the lottery next week, in which case I’m outta here!) I started off as an SEO Copywriter, so copywriting is kind of my bag.

In fact, if you gave me the option of doing something Managing Director-ish or something copywriter-ish, I’m going to do copywriter things. Hence this blog now.

But even I, as a loyal devotee of SEO copywriting, know that writing your content is only half the battle.

Once you’ve written it, if you want to give it the best chance of ranking (which you do, otherwise what was the point of writing it in the first place?!) then you have to optimise it as you’re uploading it. Forget to do that bit, and you might as well chuck half of your lovely blog post straight in the bin.  Read More

What Are The Benefits of Blogging?

By | Content Marketing, SEO, Social Media Marketing, Thoughts | No Comments

What Is A Blog?

This week’s blog is about guess what? Blogging!

Which kind of makes sense, seeing as I have been writing blogs for  Grow Traffic for a few weeks now, and I haven’t really understood the benefits, other than to indulge my love of writing for my favourite SEO company, and get paid for the privilege! Win win I say!

But before we look at the benefits of blogging, who will read your blog, and how to begin if you’ve never ventured in to blogging before but want to get started, we need to look at what actually is a blogRead More

Can Social Media Grow Your Business Profile?

By | Search Engines, Social Media Marketing | No Comments

Unless you have been living in a cave for the last ten years, or you have recently landed here from another universe, you will be all too familiar with the way Social Media is the ‘thing’ to increase your personal profile, connect with friends and colleagues, and use as a source of information for anything, from planning days out to emergency plumbers when the boiler is on the blink!

Which begs the question, just how important is social media in growing your business online? Or put another way, can you really afford not to have an online profile for your business?

What Exactly Is The Mystical Language of SEO?

By | Knowledge base, Search Engines, SEO | No Comments

So, what is this SEO language they all speak of? Who are the speakers of such a complex tongue? Are these people really huddled round Diagon Alley, associates of the Ministry of Magic, purveying some dark art?

Err, in a word, No.

Sorry to dispel the myth, but the language of SEO is not something to fear and it’s certainly not something magical either.  Read More

Why Do I Need Words And Pictures On My Website?

By | Content Marketing, Inbound Marketing, Search Engines, Social Media Marketing | One Comment

As anyone who knows me will tell you, I’m a Words Person. Not a Numbers Person – as my son is keen on reminding me – and rarely even a Pictures Person – if you’re going to stick me in an art gallery, you’re going to have to explain to me what I’m looking at. But give me words – anyone’s words; Shakespeare’s, Duffy’s, Attwood’s, hell, even Val McDermid’s – and I’m in heaven.  Read More

Why Invest in SEO Training?

Pretty much every business has a website. It is an essential part of marketing, sales, and communicating with your clients.

But if it is not properly optimised to be found on search engines, it is almost not worth having.

However, paying a Digital Marketing or SEO Agency isn’t an investment most businesses can afford indefinitely. That is why SEO Training is a good idea.

Whether you are a micro business or work alone and want to learn the basics of managing your own website, or you have a larger business and want to upskill your marketing team, we have the course for you.

By bringing your digital marketing activities in house, you can keep your sales pipeline healthy, without having to pay out every month for someone else to do it for you.

Unlike most SEO training providers, GrowTraffic uses qualified teachers and experienced trainers to deliver one to one and group courses.

Our team’s background in teaching means we have a firm understanding of how people learn new information, which lets you be confident your staff are going to leave the session with a good understanding of how to apply their new SEO or content creation knowledge.

What’s more, unlike traditional training providers, our trainers are practising SEO and content marketing experts, improving and refining their practice every day.

Your staff will be receiving the most up to date information possible, learning how to apply their new knowledge, and coming up with practical next steps to implement the best SEO practice into their routine.

Our small class sizes give delegates the opportunity to ask questions, check their understanding, and network with the other participants.

And our support doesn’t end with the course. We offer 3 months free telephone or email support after the course to ensure you are getting the biggest return on your investment and your staff are confident and comfortable with their new found skills.

Want SEO Help In The Meantime?

Many of our clients have websites that are in desperate need of attention or feel very unsure about doing their own SEO.

We will never pretend that SEO is the dark art other agencies pretend it is, but sometimes you might need a little help to get it started.

We can offer short contract terms so we can get your website ranking for you, and discounted training, so you can take it over once you are ranking well.

Once your contract and SEO training have ended, we don’t withdraw our support and leave you to it. We continue to monitor your website, and if you start to lose traffic or rankings, we can help you out again.
