New Ways To Earn Income Added To Social Media

Instagram and Facebook are more than just social media platforms. They are great tools to help you improve your business and reach out to potential customers. For years now social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have been dedicated to helping their users get their businesses off the ground. Now they are planning on improving the way you can use affiliate content and helping you make more income from your posts.

In an announcement from Facebook they claimed

“We want Instagram and Facebook to serve as a home base for creators to tell their story, grow and make a living.…Today’s updates are a big part of a broader effort to support creators as they build their careers. …we are committed to building the right mix of tools to help them accomplish their goals.”

Instagram is planning to introduce a ‘native affiliate tool’ to its app. This tool will change the way creators promote themselves and their products.  Hopefully, with this tool, they can more effectively drive sales and earn commission from their posts. The feature is going to be tested over the upcoming months with a group of specially selected Instagram creators.

The announcement explained:

“When people come across an affiliate post from a creator featuring a tagged product, they will see “Eligible for commission” at the top of the post, so it’s clear that their purchases help support that creator.”

Facebook and Instagram have also announced some other changes they are planning to introduce to make selling easier for creators. They plan to make it easier to open a shop on Instagram where you can sell your own merchandise straight to the consumer. You will also be able to link shops from your own Instagram profile.

This service is currently limited to creators working in the United States, but Facebook is hoping to have the service available to more people by the end of the year.

They’ve said:

“For creators who already have their own product lines, they can now link their shop to their personal profile in addition to their business profile.

Creators will also be able to set up a new shop and drive excitement with exclusive product launches from the Instagram app by linking their account with one of our four merchandise partners: Bravado/UMG, Fanjoy, Represent, and Spring.”

In addition to these new shopping options, Facebook and Instagram are creating new ways for their users to earn money. This time through their fans. Instagram and Facebook are launching an achievement-based system that will reward its users when they reach certain milestones.

“Starting this week, creators on Instagram are eligible to earn an extra payout when they meet certain milestones while using badges in Live, such as going Live with another account.”

“Today Facebook is launching Stars Challenges. Creators in the program can earn payouts from Facebook in the form of free Stars if they meet certain milestones, such as broadcasting a certain number of hours or earning a set number of Stars within a designated time period.”

With more and more focus being dedicated to helping small independent business, social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are proving to be a valuable asset when growing your business.
