We’re once again super excited to be able to sponsor the Creative Business Category of the Rossendale Business Awards.
This is now the eighth year of the R-Awards. It will be the third year GrowTraffic has attended the awards and the second year we’ve been a sponsor.
The awards are the most prestigious awards event on the corporate calendar of Rossendale Valley and since their inception, they’ve been run by the Valley at Work networking group, of which GrowTraffic is a member and regular attendee.
Much of the credit for the format and the operation of today’s awards has to go to Valley at Work Chairman Rob Carder, who has tirelessly built this up to the sell out event it is today,
The idea behind the R-Awards is simple, create a vehicle to showcase the business talents of Rossendale. In The Valley, we’re often guilty of not shouting enough about our achievements or associating our achievements with our local area. The R-Awards gives a voice to this.
One of the things I love about the R-Awards when compared to other awards as it’s open to everyone. There’s no cost to nominate a business. It’s a great night, but it’s very keenly priced so everyone can attend. The buffet meal creates a great atmosphere in which people genuinely get together and talk to each other. I love it.
It also means you get a really diverse group of businesses represented. I would go as far as saying it’s the most broadly representative business awards I’ve ever been to. And working in marketing I get to go to quite a few! Out of the hundreds of attendees, you’ll get everyone from small shops to one man bands, from independent companies through to PLCs.
Supporting Rossendale businesses
We moved to Bacup around four years ago and picked up GrowTraffic and moved it with us. We understand the power a local economy can have for a business. Whilst we have customers all over the country, we believe we can provide the best level of service when we can actually meet in person. Face to face. That’s why we concentrated on growing our client base in Rossendale. And that’s why we’ve just opened an office in South Yorkshire, near Sheffield.
When the opportunity arose for GT to get more involved in the Rossendale Business Awards we jumped at the chance. But being a sponsor with the R Awards is more than just getting your logo on the awards evening’s programme.
The Creative Business Category
Being a sponsor of the R-Awards means being deeply involved in the awards process, including judging. We worked on creating a shortlist of the nominations and the finalists in the Creative Business category were announced: Edmondson Design Services; Kidult and Co; Rossendale Bespoke Timber; Walking on Glass.
Next up there was a judging day with other category judges and the Valley at Work team themselves. It gave us great pleasure to announce the Winner of the Creative Business category in the 2016 Rossendale Business Awards as Kidult and Co. They’re a British designed clothing and lifestyle brand for little ones with attitude. It’s been a pleasure to watch them grow over the last year to become the even more successful and established business we see today.
The nominations open today – so head over to the R-Awards website to get nominating! We want to see loads of nominations coming through for the Creative Business awards. As an SEO consultancy we understand the importance of creativity and see the benefits of it in all our output, however, all businesses should be able to demonstrate their creativity in one capacity or another.
The winners will be announced at the R Awards 17 ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday 15th November 2017 at the Riverside in Whitworth. Tickets for the event itself are like gold dust, but if you’d like to know more about attending the award’s dinner – or about the awards themselves – then you can find all the information you need on the R Awards website.
Of course, you can stay tuned to our blog or social media to be the first to hear the latest R Awards news but, if you’d like to find out more about GrowTraffic’s involvement or any other aspect, then you can contact us using any of the methods on our Contact Page.
